This December marks a year of preparation for our 175th anniversary (December 2012) of ministry for St. John’s in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. The time is now to reach out our arms and “Open Wide the Doors to Christ” and bring others to Him. The next four months provide much opportunity for St. John’s to evangelize… Check out these major events that will be right outside our doors!
+ October 19-22, National FFA Convention – the largest annual youth convention in the nation (55,000 people expected)
+ November 17-19, National Catholic Youth Conference and Young Adult Tract– the largest annual Catholic youth/young adult convention in the nation (30,000 people expected)
+ December 3, Big Ten Football Championship Game – One of the largest single collegiate athletic events in the nation (100,000+ people expected for game and local downtown events)
+ January 27- February 5, Superbowl and pre-game day Village Events – One of the largest annual events in the world (Who knows how many people will pass near St. John’s?!)
In preparation for these events we will be training “evangelists” to give tours of St. John’s while sharing the Gospel message.
