The Caribbean nation of Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Since the 2010 Haitian earthquakes, millions of dollars have been raised for relief efforts—but they still need our help. St. John’s Haiti Ministry works with two parish communities in the northern part of Haiti called Bassin-Bleu and Bombard. So far, our St. John’s young adult community has helped raise money to add on to the school and provide clean water for the people in Bassin-Bleu. And we’re still not done.
This past May, the Haiti Ministry will be traveled back to northern Haiti to continue helping just some of the 1.6 million Haitians left homeless from the earthquakes. This trip took our missionaries to Mole Saint-Nicholas, Haiti, in the Northwest corner of the nation (marked with a red “x” below). Fr. Rodolphe, who studied theology at St. Meinrad Seminary in southern Indiana, is the pastor at the parish in Mole. Our missionaries go there to build relationships with the people of that community and discover how we can all help. Please consider how your prayers and dollars can aid the beautiful people of this impoverished nation.
